About Me

I am 27 years old and have been through many things already in life. I am learning to trust God and I pray not that He changes my circumstances but changes me!!! There are things in life that we cannot control but God will give us what we need in the moment we go through the valley. I am a new member of Gathsemane Baptist Church in Mesquite. The people of the church are so great and they love you and Jesus. The pastor is Jerry Brown and he is so real.... He is a minister and a friend.

THE CHICKENS

Ok so today I was on my way to work and I was behind this truck and feathers started blowing toward my car. I thought how strange so I started to look a little closer at the truck and I realized that there was a bunch of white chickens on top of each other all throughout this truck. I started to think what a tragedy this was for these chickens. I wonder if they knew what their fate was. I then began to make faces and little noises like,"Awe little chicken, you cute little things you." I wonder if the people beside me thought that I was completely nuts and if they did they are not far from the truth. Anyway, that was on my mind. I just thought that I would blog my morning drive experience. This is just to prove how crazy I really am.

Do you think that God looked at all of us like the Chickens when he sent Jesus his only Son to die for us? I mean really none of us knew our fate and that is why we had to have a savior. We need someone to die for us in order to save us from the slaughter.

Interesting insight, although now I feel a twinge of guilt for having chicken last night for dinner. That poor little chicken made the ultimate sacrifice.

It's sort of sad how many people don't know that there is salvation from the slaughter. And that there are some who deny that there will be one someday. Sometimes it's hard to look at people that way. People who are sick or blind and are being led to the slaughter. If we saw people this way more often, we would undoubtedly have more compassion for them.

Thanks for the food for thought.

Oh, that was you? Sorry, I take back all the "crazy girl" comments I made as I drove by you. Uhhh... if you really need to talk to someone we have counselors at church. They're much better than chickens if you want to hold a conversation. ;-)
Of course now I feel upset about eating Chicken Express on Sunday. Oh wait! That's just me feeling full and satisfied... MMMHHH.... Chicken Tenders (said in a Homer Simpson voice). Hey, we missed you there this Sunday. Did you feel a little guilty eating chicken?

Oops, wasn't suppose to be anonymous. Just so you know it's me.

Kristin!
I had the same experience with the chicken truck! Only the wild thing is that I saw the same truck later that day, and it was EMPTY!! I was so sad (ask Mandy how upset I was).
We'll pray for what God is trying to show us through crazy experiences like that... Uncomfortable things seem to teach us the most.

This is really neat. This is the first time I have stopped long enough to read a Blog. I have heard the Term "Horse Feathers" but I suppose when there are chicken feathers it is the real thing. Unlike Jan, I don't think your experience will ever cause me to feel guilty about having a chicken snack!!!!
